This month Anniwaa finished recording a BBC Worldservice radio play: The Cactus Flower written by Virginia Jekanyika, Zimbabwe, winner of English as a Second Language prize. Anniwaa has also finished filming Virgin – a film about a woman who is dealing with repercussions of FGM.
Having worked with Ralph Lauren photographer: Francois Boutemy on numerous occasions, Anniwaa teams up with Francois again to present portraits of a different nature.

Always one to support new African talent, Anniwaa attended the 4th annual African Fashion Week London. A fan of all things African, Anniwaa shared her fashion influences with Ethiopian Magazine – Ethio Beauty.
Anniwaa returns to the British stage this summer as ‘Chipo – the sexy wife’ in ‘The Epic Adventure of Nhamo and his Sexy Wife Chipo.’
Witness the tale of Nhamo, a dashing young goat herder, who has to defeat his arch nemesis, to woo the girl of his dreams, the one and only sexy African diva, Chipo Tsvarakadenga.
A meeting by chance; Anniwaa has contributed to ‘Hollywood Dreamers,’ a photo documentary project by amazing street photographer Robbie Lee.

Since March 2014, Anniwaa has been working with American actress Cindy Pickett and actor Charles Malik Whitfield on Innercity Shakepeare 2014 production A Midsummer Night’s Dream, mentoring the young cast of actors. With the support of professional mentors Inner City Shakespeare brings an ensemble of students into the world of “Theatre” using Shakespeare’s ageless language and eloquent dramatic insight into people and events. Anniwaa was invited to attend a phenomenal event – Youth Human Rights International which took place in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by Marisol Nichols, Dr. Mary Shuttleworth and celebrity host committee members Kristin Chenoweth, Kelly Preston, and Jenna Elfman, actor Terry Crews; YHRI awarded organizations and individuals who have saved young victims from the horrors of human trafficking.
Anniwaa Buachie will be bring ‘sexy back’ in Tiata Fahodzi touring production of The Epic Adventure of Nhamo the Manyika Warrior and His Sexy Wife Chipo. Friday, 29th November, Anniwaa performed at the Tricycle Theatre as part of the prestigious Alfred Fagon Award.The Award, established in 1996, commemorates the life of the late playwright and actor Alfred Fagon and is for the year’s best play by a British writer of Caribbean or African heritage. The winning writer, Diana Nneka Atuona wrote a phenomenal play – Liberian Girl which focuses on the Liberian civil war in the early 90’s. Anniwaa will be making a special appearance in ‘Re-Introducing Oshun’ an interdisciplinary exhibition that re-imagines black women’s bodies as sacred places of beauty, intimacy and love through the Yoruba deity, Oshun. Hosted by Yinka Shinobare, MBE and funded by the Arts Council, it culminates in an evening of live performances at the Lyric Hammersmith.
Featuring an all-female collective working within the mediums of movement, visual arts and poetry, ‘Re-Introducing Oshun’ demystifies the omnipresent gaze placed on black women’s bodies by “creating images of black women that look, talk, feel and love like us and in doing so presenting our own truths.”
On Friday, September 27 at Talawa Studios Sophia A Jackson hosted an event to celebrate five years of her site Afridiziak Theatre News – the UK’s only website dedicated to African-Caribbean theatre. The invite-only celebration was attended by Anniwaaa and other theatre industry professionals, media, family, friends and supporters of the wonderful site Afridiziak Theatre News.
Anniwaa featured in the compelling episode 6 of series 7, Law & Order UK as Clerk Lewis.
Working with the White Boat TV, Anniwaa is currently featuring in a short film focusing on the effects of Alzheimer.
On the 25th Anniwaa, was again caring for the sick residents in BBC 1 Eastenders as Nurse Hammond.
Anniwaa has just recently finished an episode of Eastenders. After appearing in the show in 2012, she returns once again in one of the UK’s most renowned soaps. Her episode will air in the summer, check back here for more details.
Working with fashion director and designer Lucy Borland, cinematographer Joshua Eiffel Anniwaa features in a fashion promo video for talented designer Alexis Housden. Take a sneak peak below, final film will be uploaded on website.
Working with unique photographer Corin Ashleigh Brown and prominent stylist Onomé Otite, Anniwaa has been photographed in a series of portraits focusing on ‘Old School’ Africa. A project which focuses on the journey of an old school African transforming into an Afropolitan.
